One Year Program
Program Description
The Kingston (One Year) MBA Program at URI integrates course work, career planning and development, and work experience within a one calendar year period, at our main campus in Kingston, RI. The program starts in August and continues over the Fall and Spring semesters. During the Summer, you will be taking two evening courses as well as participating in a 6-credit internship or taking two electives instead. There is a total of 15 courses, or 45 credits, in this program. Only 25 students are accepted each year.
You will start the program in August with a week long orientation session. It will include meeting faculty and staff, taking a library tour and developing your career plans. You will also participate in a "Ropes Course" and focus on group survival. Furthermore, you will be separated in smaller groups and participate in two themes carried out throughout the year: Communication Skills and Building Problem Solving Teams.

Time and Location
Classes run the last week in August through May, Monday–Thursday. The schedule is typically Monday and Wednesday from 9:30AM to 3:45PM and Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30AM to 12:15PM. During the Summer Session, classes run May through July (6:00pm–9:45pm), two nights per week. During the Summer, you will also either be taking part in an internship or taking electives to finish your program.
Ballentine Hall
Ballentine Hall is the home to the College of Business Administration in Kingston. A complete transformation to the building was completed in the summer of 2003. The new building houses a dedicated MBA classroom, live trading room, wired classrooms with state of the art video equipment, computer lab, and student lounge.

Program Fees
Listed below are the estimated costs for full-time tuition for the entire program in the 2006/2007 academic year. Tuition for the entire one year program (two full semesters plus both summer sessions) is as follows:
- In-state residents (living in RI for one year): $ 12,711
- Out-state residents: $34,914
- Additional fees for in/out state per semester: $1508 (for Fall and Spring which includes health, registration, and student services fees); $200/year on campus or $125/year commuter parking fee; one time $35 transcript and $45 graduation fees.
Financial Aid
Financial Assistance is available to the MBA student through several sources:

- Low interest, government guaranteed loans through the William D. Ford Direct Student Loan Program. Inquiries concerning the Loan Program should be addressed to:

(401) 874-2314 - Graduate assistantships are available to a limited number of full-time MBA students. Recipients work either 10 hours per week and get 1/2 tuition free for the fall and spring plus a stipend ; or work up to 20 hours of research or administrative support and you will get full tuition for the fall and spring as well as a stipend. It is also possible to obtain a graduate assistantship through other University departments. Interested students should contact the Graduate Programs Office.
- For international students and US citizens who do not qualify for the William D. Ford loan, private loans are available through MBALOANS run by the Graduate Management Admission Council. Call them at 1-888-440-4622 and talk with a customer representative to initiate a loan application for the Tuition Loan Program (TLP).
- While URI does not offer scholarships, there are other sites which offer scholarships.

Graduate Housing
Graduate housing is coordinated through URI but run like apartment rentals. There are two locations of graduate housing, both unfurnished with a stove and refrigerator. Rent starts at $732 per month. They are rented on a first come first serve basis. Off campus housing is also plentiful, with beautiful summer houses rented to students during the winter months.
