4+1 BS in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Followed by the One Year MBA
Admission Requirements for the Program:
- Students officially apply to the MBA program during their second semester of junior year for early acceptance into the MBA program.
- Completion of the online MBA application, essay, two letters of recommendation, resume, application fee, transcripts from undergraduate schools other than URI, and GMAT test is required. Residency form is not required for RI state residents if you pursue the MBA immediately after graduation.
- Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 by the end of their first semester junior year.
- Students must follow the joint curriculum program if they wish to take advantage of the 4+1 degree program. Students do have the opportunity to apply to this program and continue with the Evening MBA program, noting that it will take longer than a year to complete if participating on a part-time evening basis.
Scholarships/Assistantships Available
- David Beretta ’49 Endowment: Income from endowment for a scholarship awarded annually to provide support for either a student enrolled in the College of Engineering with a minor in business or for a URI graduate in engineering who wishes to pursue full-time study for a master’s degree in the College of Business Administration. Recipient selected by a joint decision of the deans of both colleges. Can be shared if more than one student attends in a given year. - Graduate Assistantships at the College of Business: Graduate assistantships are available to a limited number of full-time MBA students. Recipients work 10 hours per week of research or administrative support and receive 1/2 tuition free for the fall and spring plus a stipend.
