University Of Rhode Island/ Raytheon Onsite MBA Program

Overview

The onsite MBA program at Raytheon was first started in January 2002. It allows students the convenience to complete our traditional part-time MBA program onsite versus commuting to our Providence location. It is the same MBA degree as all other URI students receive – an AACSB accredited program using the same faculty as the other programs. Students will take these classes as a group – starting and finishing together just under a three year time period.

A tentative schedule of courses based on two course offerings per semester is available. The official sequencing of courses will be determined after reviewing feedback from current Raytheon MBA students and faculty schedules. All courses are three credits each and run one night per week (usually M or W) from 5-7:45pm during fall and spring and during the summer twice a week (M/W) from 5-8:45pm for a five week session each (May-June and June-July).

Three 3-credit elective courses are part of the program. Electives will be offered on site, based on student demand. Individuals may also take electives at the Providence or Kingston campus, web based, Saturday or intensive weekend electives. Our MBA advisor, Lisa Lancellotta is assigned to each program participant. Each program participant must apply to the URI graduate school and successfully meet the program entrance requirements. However, participants may take up to 12 credits as a non-matriculated student.

Students will have full access to the URI services and facilities at the Kingston, Narragansett or Providence campuses. While it is not necessary to visit these facilities, the close proximity to Raytheon is an added benefit for those who wish to use the facilities and services. Facilities include the campus library (which is online), computing center, student ID, tutors and counselors, and cultural events. Raytheon will cover the tuition cost for all classes. Students are responsible for books and a one time graduation fee.

URI MBA Application Process

Applicants with a bachelor's degree from any accredited college or university may apply for admission to the Master of Business Administration Program. Applications are reviewed on a rolling admission basis, meaning that once the application is complete, the review committee will review your materials. The final deadline to matriculate for the Summer semester is March 31, and June 30th for the Fall semester. Students can start out as a non-matriculating student for the Spring and Summer 2009 (no application to the program), but must apply by Fall 2009 or will not be allowed to take classes in Fall.
