Clay V. Sink was Professor of Management as well as the former Undergraduate Associate Dean at the College of Business Administration at the University of Rhode Island.
Dr. Sink holds a Ph.D. in Business Education, Marketing, Administrative Services, from Ohio State University. He holds an M.S. in Business from the University of Tennessee. He obtained his C.A.M. (Certified Administrative Manager) in 1989. One of his areas of interest is international business.
He has served as visiting professor at the University of Grenoble, France; International Management Institute, New Delhi India; Novgorod University, Russia; and Chinese Universities in Beijing, Wuhan, and Nanchang. Another area of interest is managerial communications. He has presented frequently at the Association of Business Communications. Topics have included: "The Bully in the Workplace", "The Use of Emoticons in E-Mail Correspondence," "Word Preparation for Communication Development," "Using Words to Communicate Management Skills," "The Communications Requirement, Designing a Writing Intensive Course," "Favoritism in the Business Classroom," "Using Electronic Collaboration To Teach Business Concepts," "The Nature of Competition in the New Global Order".
Dr. Sink has received the honor of being recognized the Rhode Island Business Educator of the Year and also given the Beta Gamma Sigma Teaching Excellence Award.
As a professor, adviser and administrator in the College of Business Administration Dr. Sink was constantly extolling the virtues of internships to students. Dr. Sink retired in 2007. An endowment in his honor will be used to support URI business students completing internships regionally, nationally and internationally.
